About Student Expressware

Who can buy software at Student Expressware?

This site is for students and their parents and is intended to supply low-cost software for home use. The licensee of the products is required to be a University, College or School student in the UK. For further details of eligibility please click here.

Why are products so much cheaper at the Student Expressware?

Our status as a certified educational reseller allows us to supply fully-functional Professional software (not Student and Teacher or Home Edition versions) at greatly discounted prices, with the aim of encouraging learning and achievement through ICT. This means that many of our products are typically discounted by 80% or more.

Why do I need to register at Student Expressware?

Because our special educational discounts are only available to students we need you to register and agree to our terms and conditions. Registration is really easy and you only have to do it once. Next time you visit Student Expressware, you can just use your login name and password to start shopping straight away!

About our software

How many computers can I install the software on?

You may:

  1. install and use a copy of the software on one personal computer or other device;
  2. install an additional copy of the software on a second, portable device for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software, i.e. Laptop. [NOT APPLICABLE TO WINDOWS/INTERNET SECURITY PURCHASES WHICH ARE LICENCED PER PC]

 

Do I need to have a version of Windows on my PC before I can upgrade to XP Pro or Vista Business?

Yes. Microsoft provides students with an upgrade license to use operating system software. For a list of supported upgrade paths please check the Microsoft site. Microsoft restricts volume licensing programs to operating system upgrade products. If you need the full system product, you will have to buy it commercially.

Can I buy more than one copy of each application?

No, under the terms of the programme each student is entitled to one copy only of each version of the software.

Will my software still belong to me when I leave school or college?

Yes, the license offered you buy is a perpetual license and does not expire when you cease to be a student. You can still use the products after you graduate or leave college. Please note this is not the case with rental products.

What is the difference between the different versions of Office?

Do your Student products provide the same functionality as those available through the retail market?and what exactly will I receive?

Yes, a product purchased through Student Expressware offers the same functionality as a product purchased through the retail market and in some cases more functionality. None of our products are scaled down in any way. You will receive Microsoft discs in a sleeve not a box to keep costs down. The product comes with installation instructions but no manuals are issed with Microsoft products.

For example the student and teachers version that you would buy online or in shops is the limited Home & Student version. This does not include Outlook, Access, or Publisher - these are only available on the Professional Versions, which is what we provide through Student Expressware. This may be less important to primary schools, but in secondary schools Access is required to deliver the ICT curriculum, so schools may prefer students to be able to buy this for home. If a student wants to buy Access separately, it will typically cost £120-£150 elsewhere.

How can I pay for my order and is buying online safe?

On the Student Expressware web site, credit card transactions are guaranteed to be fully safe according to the SSL encrypting standard (Secure Socket Layer). This means that your financial information is encrypted using not just one but two keys to make it secure and confidential during transmission over the internet. And we never store any payment card information.

Do you provide an invoice?

Yes. An invoice is sent automatically to you by email after you place your order. Please add studentexpressware.co.uk to your safe sender e-mail list. You can also find a printable invoice in the order history section of 'My Account' after you login.

What is your refund policy?

With our Easy Returns policy you can get your money back within 15 days after the software has been delivered to you. Please click here for more information on returning products.

Please note: Citnexus is not able to offer returns on download or streamed product, and that we can only accept returns of boxed/DVD product if the item is returned to us in its original sealed packaging.
